Clueless
Perhaps even at my age I should be "cool" enough to understand.
Perhaps I should at least be able to answer the question via the lyrics.
But I'm not and I haven't.
So, I pose the question, "What does it mean to be a hollaback girl?"
My daughter and I would like an answer.

You may get 2 of these--comment problems. Hollaback girl means someone that will start a rumor back if one is started about her. In the song, she is NOT a hollaback girl; instead she will kick butt to end the rumor instead of talking about people. This is according to my 8th grade daughter!
Now that one makes sense - in this instance, I'm betting that an 8th grader would definitely know...thank you!
Now to try to explain this to a five year old.....
Hope the explanation with your 5 year old went well. I learn something everyday--of course some of the things I learn I'd rather not know. Being a parent is a total trip--but well worth the ride!
